Website Terms
Effective date: October 4th, 2026
Cove Law P.C. operates this website. These terms explain how its information and materials may be used and what to expect when contacting Cove through the website.
Information and legal advice
Our public pages introduce the firm and discuss legal and business topics in general terms. They do not assess your circumstances or provide legal advice for your matter. A rule, example, or strategy that applies in one situation may not apply in another.
Laws and circumstances change. An article’s publication or review date matters, and a page may not reflect later developments. Speak with a lawyer about the relevant facts, deadlines, and jurisdiction before deciding what to do. Website descriptions do not promise a particular outcome.
For information about the firm and lawyer admissions, see our Legal Notice. See also our Attorney Advertising notice.
Discussing a matter with Cove
Reading this website does not by itself make Cove your lawyer. An inquiry, a meeting request, or a message describing a matter is not confirmation that Cove has accepted it.
If we decide to work together, we will agree on the work and its fixed fee before we begin. A separate engagement agreement addresses the representation. These website terms do not change that agreement or expand the work Cove has agreed to undertake.
If you already work with Cove, use the contact arrangements agreed with your legal team for your matter.
What to send in an initial inquiry
Start with your contact details and a brief description of the kind of help you need. Please wait for instructions before sending documents, detailed accounts of events, or sensitive information. Examples include medical records, government identification numbers, financial account details, passwords, and information about other people.
We may need names and other limited information to determine whether we can discuss the matter, including whether a conflict of interest exists. Ask us how to provide that information and any documents we request.
Protections can apply to a consultation before a representation begins, including under California Rule of Professional Conduct 1.18 and California Evidence Code section 951. These terms do not waive any confidentiality, privilege, or other protection that applies to your communications, or any duty Cove owes you.
Deadlines and formal notices
If a deadline is approaching, seek legal assistance promptly. Do not wait for a website response or assume Cove is handling a deadline because you mentioned it in an inquiry. Confirm directly whether Cove has agreed to take the necessary action.
For a notice required by an agreement, court rule, or law, follow the applicable delivery requirements. A general website inquiry is not a substitute for those requirements. Nothing here overrides a legally effective notice or an agreed method of delivery.
Using and sharing website materials
You may link to our public pages. You may also save or print Cove’s own public articles for your personal reference or internal business reference, keeping their attribution, dates, and notices intact. This permission does not authorize resale, republication, or alteration of the materials, and it does not extend to material identified as belonging to another owner.
For another use, contact hello@cove.law with the material and proposed use. This permission leaves intact uses independently allowed by law, including fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107.
Do not use Cove’s name or logo to suggest that we endorse, sponsor, or are associated with you without our permission. Separate terms supplied with a particular resource govern that resource if they expressly provide different permissions.
Responsible website use
Use the website lawfully and respect the rights of others. In particular, do not:
Attempt to enter restricted systems, defeat access controls, or obtain information you are not authorized to access.
Introduce malicious code or deliberately disrupt the website or another person’s access.
Use the website for impersonation, fraud, unsolicited bulk messages, or infringement of another person’s rights.
Use automated requests in a way that overloads the website or bypasses access restrictions.
We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security concerns, or legal requirements. A restriction on website access does not by itself end a legal representation or change duties owed in that representation.
If you encounter information that appears to have been exposed by mistake, stop accessing it and contact us. Please describe where you found it without forwarding sensitive material through a general inquiry.
Privacy and outside links
Read our Privacy Policy and Cookie and Advertising Policy for information about website data practices and available choices.
A link to another organization’s website does not mean Cove endorses everything on that site. Before submitting information on an outside website, review the relevant terms and privacy information. A link does not change Cove’s own obligations concerning information it handles or services it arranges for a matter.
Availability and updates
Website features and content may change or become unavailable. We do not promise continuous access, error-free operation, or that public information will answer a particular legal question. If a website problem prevents you from reaching us, use the contact details below.
These terms do not limit liability for legal malpractice, excuse a breach of professional duties, or take away rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
We will identify revisions to these terms by updating their effective date. A posted revision does not amend an engagement agreement or retroactively change an agreement already made with you. If a website feature requires your agreement to additional terms, those terms must be presented for your acceptance in connection with that feature.
